Communication is the basic skill that all supervisors, leaders and team members require to be successful, yet few people understand the process of communication. The Focused Communication Skills workshop investigates the process of communication and the specific communication tools, such as speaking, listening, questioning, and feedback, that are required for information trainsfer and mutual understanding.
During the workshop the participants investigate the communications process and its impact on their ability to effectively interact with peers and empower and supervise workers. They develop an understanding of which communication approaches work best with their direct reports and how to modify their communication styles to optimize information transfer.
At the completion of the workshop, the participants will be able to:
- Use the proper communications tools to give instructions and ensure that those instructions are understood
- Understand the communication dynamics inherent in their interactions with direct reports
- Modify their message to address the particular needs of each style.
