Suitability, Commitment, Timeframe
Finding the right coach is a very personal decision, and the coaching
relationship must be a good “fit.” We will only work with a client if we can provide real value.
For the coaching relationship to be effective, commitment is required. Following
the exploratory meeting, we require an initial commitment of three months; most
coaching relationships last from six to twelve months.
Why First Steps
- Within a clear, focused agenda, we work from individual needs and
styles.
- We understand how people learn and enjoy helping them to respond to
challenge and pressure so that they adapt and grow.
- We aim always to achieve a productive blend of support, challenge and
creativity with our clients.
- We are results focused, pragmatic and objective.
More Client Testimonials
For the last six months I have had the pleasure of working with Rob Benson of First
Training on developing my leadership skills. I have found Rob to be a valuable asset in guiding
my growth as a department manager and in my personal life as well.
Rob has helped me evaluate my style of leadership by providing honest feedback and by
challenging me to define the reasons driving my decisions and the factors that affect my
relationships with my subordinates, peers, and those to whom I report. Using a mixture of
humor, his own personal experiences, and a challenge to critique myself honestly, he has helped
me take a route to achieve goals for my organization.
His mentoring has enabled me to manage more effectively in an environment that includes staff
from a wide diversity of backgrounds and with differing levels of responsibility to each other and our department.
Rob's personality and demeanor make one comfortable immediately, and his challenges to
perform fieldwork in the job are based in the real world of day-to-day interpersonal actions. I
would encourage anyone who is driven to improve their organization's management team or
realize positive growth of their own personal potential, to meet Rob and see how he can benefit
them personally and professionally.
