What is DiSC?  What is a Profile?

What is DiSC?

DiSC is a unique, four-quadrant lens to interpret behavior of yourself and others. The Original DISC Personality Behavior Model, based on the work of William Moulton Marston and described in his two books Emotions of Normal People (1928) and Integrative Psychology (1930), describes four main behavioral profiles, D (Dominance), I (Influence), S (Steadiness) and C (Conscientiousness).

What is a Profile?

A Profile is a self-assessment, commonly known as a survey, test, inventory, or learning tool. You cannot "pass" or "fail"; the 28 question DiSC, easy to take and score, indicates your behavior patterns and tendencies within the four quadrants. DISC Profiles describe and measure human behavior in a specific environment.

What Does it Mean?

Your score in each of these areas show the relative strength of each of these behavioral approaches; the combination of these scores shows your overall behavioral style expressed most frequently as one of 15 patterns.

High D's (those who score highly in Dominance) like results and control; they can be described as quick and impatient.

High I's (those who score highly in Influence) are people-oriented and thrive on recognition; they are often described as expressive and enthusiastic.

High S's (those who score highly in Steadiness) are stable and deliberate; they are good listeners and are often described as diplomatic.

High C's (those who score highly in Conscientious) are analytical, systematic, orderly and accurate.

What is your favored approach?  Where are you strongest: D - I - S - C? Which of the 15 "combination" styles or Classical patterns are you? Take the DiSC and find out!
